Household Assistant in Care and Support Services

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for individuals who want to start or reorient their careers in the fields of housekeeping, care, or support services.
No previous experience is required.
Career changers and job seekers with an education voucher from the Jobcenter or Employment Agency are also welcome.

This practical training provides hands-on knowledge in housekeeping, care, and support.
Participants learn how to perform household and care-related tasks in private homes or care facilities — combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience through an integrated internship.

Duration & Scope

    Total duration: 24 weeks (6 months)
    Scope: 437 in-person lessons + 598 online lessons
    Internship: 1 week (5 working days / 40 hours)
    Format: Hybrid (online & on-site) or fully on-site
    Location: WIECO Education Center, Wipsch 15, 56130 Bad Ems

    Basics of housekeeping and work organization
    Hygiene, cleaning, and disinfection
    Nutrition and meal preparation
    Laundry care and textile maintenance
    Waste separation and environmental awareness
    Communication and teamwork
    Special aspects of care and assistance
    Working with elderly or physically limited persons
    Job application training and career orientation

Objectives & Outcomes

    After completing the course, participants will be able to:
    Perform household and care-related tasks professionally
    Apply hygiene and safety standards confidently
    Support people in everyday household or care routines
    Secure employment in private households or care facilities

Language

The course is conducted in German.
If required, additional support in Russian is available.

Funding & Costs

Participation is 100% free of charge with an Education Voucher (Bildungsgutschein) from the Employment Agency or Jobcenter.
We will gladly help you with the application and enrollment process.

Certificate

After successful completion, participants receive a Certificate “Household Assistant” from the WIECO Education Center.
